The Bible in Stained Glass – Light from Dark

The second panel in our sanctuary’s series of 24 stained glass artwork represents the first day of creation in Genesis 1, when God says “Let there be light.” The description of the window is as follows:

Genesis 1:3 – “Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.”

From the dark blue comes light. The milky white glass selected for the light is a specialty glass shipped from Germany. It combines clear glass with an opaque white coloring that creates a cloudlike pattern, suggesting the energy of the moment of creation. The red ribbon here will be seen throughout all the windows as a symbol of the Spirit’s creative movement throughout history.

Question: Where in your life have you found light coming out of darkness?
